A LESSON FROM THE PAGE
While writing Chapter 3 of Profit Seeks Purpose, I was struck again by a simple, powerful truth:
God doesn’t just meet us at the mountaintops—He walks with us through the mess.
In the story, Caleb discovers that real leadership isn’t about fixing or controlling everything. Sometimes it means entering the chaos—not to dominate, but to serve.
And isn’t that true in life and business?
In our actual mastermind group this week, someone shared a text that said to be great one must first serve. Real leadership is not “lording over” others as much as supporting them. It might even mean getting your boots dirty.
We often want to fast-forward through the hard parts, don’t we? But it’s in those uncomfortable, uncertain moments that we often experience our purpose most clearly.
Surely you have a story that reveals this truth. Where’s a place—unexpected or messy—where you’ve recently encountered the power of dirty boots, of service, of purpose? In a team conflict? A tough decision? A personal setback?
Your story might be the encouragement someone else needs today.
